About Author Lauren

Lauren K. Ackerman is a lifetime resident of Wisconsin who developed a passion for flamingos through her travels to Florida and other tropical places. When flamingos landed in Wisconsin for the first time, Lauren was inspired to share the story through her first children’s book, Flingo Flies to Wisconsin. Her second book, Flingo Friends a Snowbird continues the adventures of Flingo the Flamingo.

Lauren treasures time spent with her husband and grown children and can’t wait to read children's books to her grandchildren one day. The book was featured on local media outlets such as Fox6, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Waukesha Freeman, and Focus Waukesha.
